Abstract
To study the fertility outcome and related factors after surgical treatment of tubal pregnancy, the 961 cases of tubal pregnancies were evaluated. All patients were attempting pregnancy after the surgical procedure.
During a follow-up that ranged from 13 to 98 months, the overall conception rate was 61.6%. The intrauterine pregnancy rate was 61.8% and the repeated ectopic pregnancy rate 38.2%. The related factors present at the time of surgery were
correlated
to
the fertility outcome, e.g., the age of the patient, gravidity, history of infertility, previous abdominal surgery, contralater 1 peritubal adhesion, the location of the gestation and the rupture of the tubal wall. Conversely, there was no
correlation
between the fertility outcome and the gestational weeks and the type of operative procedure.
